Home » Luther Vandross: A House Is Not A Home – Live 1988 NAACP Image Awards

At first, I loved this song for Luther’s vocal gymnastics. He could do things that many of today’s vocalists would not dare attempt. I’ve always enjoyed the way he would flirt with notes and then drop them down an octave. I just loved his voice. I didn’t understand the words of this song until much later in my life. It’s one of the grandest love songs of all of time.

And he sang it live at 1988 NAACP Image Awards.
