“Sorry yall, just one of those days,” he tweeted in companion to the link. About an hour later, he posted another message that read, “MY HEART IS INCOMPLETE… the part that is complete is my love for fans, career, friends, family.. god. but im missing someone or somthing.”

The lyrics for “Changed Man” partly read, “Daily / I’ve been waiting / For the time to pass / and let it fade in. They looking at you / Telling you / We need to break it up / You need to trust what you do / It’s you and me my love / But Ima make it up to you / And show the world / I’m a changed man.”

Alicia Keys' New Single

Alicia Keys - Doesn’t Mean Anything

I guess Alicia Keys could not hold it any longer, so she leaked her entire song called “Doesn’t Mean Anything”.
‘Doesn’t Mean Anything’ sounds very pop/rock (was she inspired by U2?) and her voice is amazing but this is far from being a classic song, nonetheless I think her fans will love it.

The track is said to be the first single off her forthcoming album out later this year.

Chris Brown Has Something to Prove on New Single, Swizz Beatz Says

September 17, 2009 zyonseven Leave a comment

Chris Brown indeed will make a duet with Lil Wayne on new single titled “Transformer”, singer/producer Swizz Beatz confirmed. The song is promised to be brought to surface sometime soon with its accompanying music video going into production later on.

Chris Brown New Single

“He’s got something to prove,” Swizz told MTV about what to expect from Chris on the new track. “He worked on 60, 70 songs. He’s just on fire. I told him, ‘Listen, man, just stay focused on your music. They gonna throw shots at you. Time heals everything’.”

“He has great support; his mother is amazing,” Swizz continued making reference to the support Chris received following his altercation with Rihanna back in February. “I was really scoping out the situation, it could have been something I didn’t want to be around, but I really got a great vibe. Honestly.”

On Weezy’s part meanwhile, Swizz said there is no doubt about the rap mogul’s ability in making hit singles. “The Wayne part is just nothing to talk about. He really showed his a- on this one. It’s probably the best feature verse since the ‘It’s Me [Bi---es]‘ remix. He really went in on the ‘Transformer’ joint,” the producer explained.

Kanye West On Jay Leno: I’m Ashamed [VIDEO]

September 16, 2009 zyonseven Leave a comment

President Obama thinks he’s a jackass. Hundreds of thousands of tweets have expressed similar sentiments. And this evening, Kanye West was one of the first guests on the premiere episode of Jay Leno’s new primetime show, where the musician said that he’s “ashamed” of crashing Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at Sunday night’s Video Music Awards.

Kanye had already been scheduled to perform of the show, but the interview was only added to the schedule after last night’s antics became the buzz of the media and the Web. After watching it, it seems fairly clear that Sunday’s antics were not staged, as Leno nearly brings Kanye to tears in asking about what his recently deceased mother would think of his actions.

Here’s the interview in full, via NBC:

Rihanna’s New Album Will Be Edgier and Angrier, Ne-Yo Says

September 15, 2009 zyonseven Leave a comment

Rihanna's New Album

What to expect from Rihanna’s forthcoming studio album has been revealed. Spilling the beans on that matter was Ne-Yo while attending 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio Music City Hall on September 13.

Ne-Yo opened up to E! Online that he has been in a songwriting session with Rihanna. “Expect an edgier, almost angrier Rihanna on this one. Rihanna says some things on this album that you’ve never heard her say before,” he stated.

Another star who gives clue on Rihanna’s new record was Akon. Unlike Ne-Yo who said the song he and Rihanna are crafting is not ballad at all, Akon shared, “I’m going to lighten her up. I don’t want an angry Rihanna.”

There hasn’t been any official statement regarding the working title for Rihanna’s upcoming effort. The All-American Rejects’ vocalist Tyson Ritter, Stargate, James Fauntleroy, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, The-Dream, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Kanye West, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Soulja Boy, Shontelle and Pharrell Williams are all rumored to make contribution to the album.

September 15, 2009 zyonseven Leave a comment

Tweets from Angry Celebrities

The world according to Kanye is making the celebrity circuit buzz with contempt.

A very humble Taylor Swift lost the twinkle in her eyes, after a not so humble Kayne West stormed MTV’s VMA stage, and interrupted her acceptance speech for ‘Best Female Video.’

West lambasted the young Swift by hijacking the mic, and then suggesting that Beyonce should be the rightful winner of the coveted moon man. The outlandish act has many celebs fuming with anger, and Tweeting like mad.

Here is what some of them had to say:

• Pink : “Kanye west is the biggest piece of s*** on earth. Quote me.”

• P. Diddy: “I’m gonna say this, we should always have respect for each other! End of discussion.”

• Kelly Pickler: “Tator Tot, you handled yourself with Grace. Kanye, go grow some f***ing balls b***h! don’t mess w/my lil sis!!”

Kanye West Feels Celebrity Backlash, Swift Earns Support

September 15, 2009 zyonseven Leave a comment

Not long after Kanye West’s now infamous on stage rant at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday, fans and celebrities hit Twitter. Blasting the rapper, who is often lauded for his talent, a number of celebrities including Capitol Records’ Jaicko, say Kanye lost cool points. “Cmon kanye…I’m disappointed in u bro…u just lost a couple points from me,” Jaicko wrote late Sunday.

Kanye West and Taylor Swift

West’s rant, which included grabbing the mic from Swift, also upset Kelly Rowland. Recognizing the stolen moment, like Beyonce mentioned before giving Swift the floor to speak during her Video of the Year acceptance speech, Rowland wrote: “I LOVE Kanye and I LOVE TAYLOR, and OF COARSE I LOVE B!! But NO ONE should have a moment taken away from them…“

While sources say Taylor Swift and her mother took West’s interruption hard, allegedly crying backstage, they now have a new group of supporters including Trey Songz and Keri Hilson.

Songz, tweeting Swift, wrote “you deserve all you receive beautiful, let no man tell you different. “

Keri Hilson, admiring Swift’s return to the stage later in the evening, like many others, wrote “YAAAAAY! Taylor got her moment!!”

According to MTV, the “808s & Heartbreak” star was booted shortly after a controversial on stage rant that disrupted the first-ever acceptance speech from country star Taylor Swift — but not before another altercation.

MTV sources say West and longtime foe/artist P!nk nearly came face to face after West issued the words “I’m sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time“. Sources say P!nk was so upset that she began to approach the rapper as he returned to his seat amidst “boos” from the audience and was thus escorted away by security.

After being asked to leave, West left New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

But Pink was not done, she later tweeted about the incident, stating: “Kanye west is the biggest piece of sh*t on earth. Quote me.”
“My heart goes out to Taylor Swift. She is a sweet and talented girl and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her,” Pink went on to say.

Kanye West Apologizes to Taylor Swift for MTV VMAs Outburst

September 14, 2009 zyonseven 1 comment

He dedicates the apologetic statements to Taylor, her mother and fans for interrupting the country music star’s Best Female Video acceptance speech at this year’s MTV VMAs.

Earning criticism for interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West wasted no time to issue an apology to the young country music singer. Not only he dedicated the apologetic statements, which he posted on his blog few hours after the incident took place, to Taylor, but also to her mother and fans.

Kanye grabs the mic from Taylor Swift

“I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID,” Kanye began his post. “SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS! ………………….. I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT! …………….”

“BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV. I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW,” the hip-hop artist continued. “WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!! EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I’M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE!!! NO DISRESPECT BUT WE WATCHIN’ THE SHOW AT THE CRIB RIGHT NOW CAUSE … WELL YOU KNOW!!!! I’M STILL HAPPY FOR TAYLOR!!!! BOOOYAAAWWWW!!!!”

“YOU ARE VERY VERY TALENTED!!! I GAVE MY AWARDS TO OUTKAST WHEN THEY DESERVED IT OVER ME … THAT’S WHAT IT IS!!!!!!! I’M NOT CRAZY YALL, I’M JUST REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!! I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I’M SINCERELY SORRY!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!!!,” Kanye ended his post.

Kanye West managed to set tongue wagging when he suddenly jumped to the stage at the 26th Annual MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 13 when Taylor Swift was giving her acceptance speech for her Best Female Video prize. She was delivering her speech when he took away the microphone she was holding and telling audience that Beyonce Knowles should have won the prize for the music video of her track “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”.

“Yo Taylor. I’m really happy for you. I’m gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!” he shouted. Both Taylor and Beyonce were shocked at Kanye’s action.

However, later that day when she was announced as Video of the Year winner for her “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” music video, Beyonce invited Taylor to once again come to the stage and finish her speech which was previously cut short by Kanye.

Janet Jackson Releases New Single Following VMA Performance

September 14, 2009 zyonseven Leave a comment

Janet Jackson 2009

Janet Jackson paid loving tribute to her late brother Michael at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, dancing along with a projection of MJ as their duet “Scream” played on the big screen. The dramatic opening of the show, which included a moving speech from Madonna, was just her first tip of the fedora to Michael, though.

A short time later, Janet gave the ultimate thank you to her beloved sibling by posting a new single, “Make Me,” on her Web site. The song, seemingly the first single from her upcoming album, reportedly due out in early 2010, is an uptempo dance jam with a chorus that pays loving tribute to MJ’s iconic 1979 solo single “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”

Easing up on the darker S&M themes of her recent albums, “Make Me” is a fun, breezy tune with an elastic disco beat in which Jackson teases the object of her obsession to “go on get up and shake your body,” promising “we’re gonna have a good time.”

The chorus twists Michael’s refrain into a Janet-worthy, sexy come-on, with the lyrics, “Don’t stop ’til you get it up,” as she entices her man to join her on the dance floor and shake it until the morning light. “Baby can you move, make me groove/ Show me what you do, make me move/ Baby can you move, make me groove/ Show me what you can do, make me move,” she sings in the ear-candy hook, adding one of her signature breathy come-ons later in the tune to seal the deal. “If you feel like you can get it tonight,” she coos. “But first you gotta make me say … Oooohhh.”

On her Twitter page, Jackson explained the gift-wrapped look of the “Make Me” stream on her site. “Thank u for ur endless love n support! I hope u guys enjoyed us tonight. It was very special for me n I have a very special gift for all of u.”

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards might have wrapped, but the party is far from over. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates, party reports and much more.

Alicia Keys’ fresh material is said to be called ‘Doesn’t Mean Anything’ and will be sent to radio at the end of this month.

Alicia Keys

News flying on the web suggests that Alicia Keys’ new single called “Doesn’t Mean Anything” will get airplay debut on September 30. The song is widely believed to serve as the lead single from her new album which is yet to be titled.

Earlier this month, Alicia’s longtime producing partners Kerry “Krucial” Brothers wrote on his Twitter that there is a chance the singer will unveil the new track this month after the gala ceremony of 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Hours later however, he took down the post for unknown reason.

Alicia Keys indeed is confirmed to sing at the awards on September 13. But instead of singing her own song, she will collaborate with Jay-Z and deliver one of the rapper’s new singles “Empire State of Mind” which is taken from his newly-released album “The Blueprint 3″.

Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ Trailer to Debut at 2009 MTV VMAs

September 11, 2009 zyonseven Leave a comment

2009 MTV Video Music Awards will be the first place fans get the first look at Michael Jackson’s film “This Is It”. In anticipation of the awards’ live broadcast on Sunday, September 13, MTV announced that the network will debut the trailer for the movie that is built around the King of Pop’s rehearsal footage.

The unraveling of the trailer premiere came in days after Janet Jackson was confirmed as the opening act for the show in which she will perform a musical tribute for her late brother. “This Is It” won’t be the only movie to have its trailer debuted at this year’s VMAs since “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” will deliver its brand new extended trailer during the live broadcast as well.

“This Is It” offers a behind-the-scenes footage of Michael preparing for a series of the O2 London shows he was rehearsing when he died June 25. It will compile more than 100 hours of video footage concert promoter AEG Live shot during April, May and June 2009. Directed by Kenny Ortega, the documentary movie will be released in theaters across the world for a limited two-week engagement, starting on October 28.

The 26th Annual MTV Video Music Awards, in the meantime, will take place at Radio City Music Hall with British comedian and actor Russell Brand serving as host and will be aired from 9 P.M. ET. Beyonce Knowles, Taylor Swift, Muse, Green Day, Pink and Lady GaGa are among the performers confirmed for the show.

“New Moon” leading actors, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart, will be on hand to present the trailer of “Twilight” sequel, while their co-star Ashley Greene will serve as MTV’s fashion correspondent. The awards show will also see the debut of the film’s soundtrack from Death Cab for Cutie, “Meet Me in the Equinox”.

Janet Jackson Takes Control: Her First Interview Since Michael Jackson’s Death

September 10, 2009 zyonseven Leave a comment

Janet Jackson hasn’t watched television since her brother Michael died suddenly in Los Angeles on June 25. She has blocked herself off completely from the hysterical media coverage of his death — who did it, what did it. “It will drive you crazy,” she says. “People can have rhinoceros skin, but there’s a point when something’s going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven’t watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, How’s Obama doing? I haven’t read a newspaper. On top of that, [we've lost] a family member.”

The last time Janet saw Michael was on May 14, two days before her 43rd birthday. It was a family celebration, the Jackson kids were running around, and she and her big brother hung out, ate Thai food, and tormented each other. “We had so much fun that day,” she says, her soft voice almost inaudible. “We kept calling each other after and saying how great it was.”

Janet left soon after to start work on Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too. She was on set in Atlanta when she got the call that Michael had died. She immediately returned to L.A., plunging headlong into a private family grief served up to a ravenous public. Of course, one of the most moving images from the memorial service was of Michael’s daughter, Paris, who stepped up to the microphone and said, “Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine” before grabbing her aunt Janet for support. “I was really proud,” Janet recalls. “People said to me that Michael’s daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She’s a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They’re with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going.”

After the service, Janet and sisters La Toya and Rebbie went to speak to the fans. Janet, who said a brief and quiet thank-you, was greeted with thunderous applause. “I don’t remember that at all,” she says. “I really didn’t want to say anything. I left that night to go back to Atlanta to film.”

Work has always been a tonic for Janet. Today she is sitting in a bunkerlike recording studio in Hollywood, writing songs for a new album, due out next spring. Nickelodeon is on the TV (perhaps the only network not doing Michael 24/7), incense is burning, and she is trying to discourage her French bulldog, Bullwinkle, a birthday gift from brother Jermaine, from nibbling at her towering Azzedine Alaïa lizard sandals.

“I’ve been doing okay,” she says. “Work helps focus all of that energy on something that is of value to you.” She’s just back from vacation, a princely three days on a beach. “It was the first time I had to myself since Michael passed, the first time I could get away since all of that.”

Janet doesn’t like talking much, so it’s not hard to understand why people applaud when she opens her mouth. While she is the baby of the Jackson family, she is, in many ways, its nexus. “I have no clue why,” she says, “but maybe sometimes when there’s someone you don’t hear from, it’s the person you want to hear from the most.”

She’s learned a lot in these past weeks. “I always wanted to have my mother’s [Katherine Jackson] strength, but I didn’t know if it was really there. But a few years back, something happened and I learned that I did.” She fixes you with a keen gaze. “I’m not going to mention it, but we all know what it is. And now, coming off all this, it’s even beyond that. I was just focused on my job at that moment within my family.” She pauses. “Now at least I know that I can step up to the plate and not crumble when I’m needed. When it comes to something like this that is so, so serious, so painful, so traumatic, I can handle it.”

Janet has been handling it in public for more than two decades. Rhythm Nation 1814, her groundbreaking album, was released 20 years ago this fall. She has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and had 41 Billboard number-one singles. Her out-of-this-world tours, indelible dance style, and bold, provocative, but always human presence is equaled by only that of her late brother. In 1995’s futuristic “Scream” video, for which she collaborated with Michael, there is a telling scene where the space-age siblings are elbowing each other for the remote control. “Yeah,” she says, smiling. “We had so much fun back then. We would organize our days together and go out for vegetarian lunch at the Golden Temple in L.A. We were so busy, but we’d make time.”

While the $7 million video was the apex of art direction, Janet arrived at her look another way. “I’ve always been a tomboy,” she says. “I’ve always liked to wear red, black, and white, and mostly pants.” Her brother, of course, shared a love for the same palette. She lights up when she talks about Michael’s style. “My brother is, I mean was…” She shifts on the couch and stares at the floor. “You have to forgive me, because it’s really hard to believe he’s passed. He’d have the same red shirt, the same black pants, the same white T-shirt. Mike was very simple. When I was 14 years old, I would shop for him. [Michael was then 21 and a megastar.] I washed his clothes, cleaned his room. When Mother would go out of town, she’d say, ‘I’m leaving you in charge. Take care of Mike.’ I would head home from school, see what he needed, then go straight to the stores.” She giggles a little and says, “You know something else? He loved to wear his shoes all the way down. His penny loafers would have huge holes in the bottom.”

One thing Michael did prize, of course, was his single white glove. “That was actually my brother Jackie’s idea at home one day,” Janet explains. “He just said, ‘You should wear one glove. A white glove.’ And then Mike studded it all. That was it.” Did he wear the glove to Jackson family dinners? She laughs. “Nooo.” And yes, Janet has moonwalked. “Uh-huh. No, no one does it like he does, though. Everybody else tried, but it was no good.”

On stage, she adds, “if it was shiny, if it had any kind of bling, he loved it. It was that drummer-boy look. Do you remember that black jacket he wore for Motown’s 25th anniversary? That’s our mother’s! He grabbed that from her closet! He loved anything that sparkled.” Michael’s love of all that glittered continued until his death. That last day Janet saw Michael, “he had a Balmain jacket on. He had a few of them — all black, jeweled, studded, with rhinestones.” While the public obsesses over what will happen to Michael’s estate, including his famous jackets, Janet is not interested in wearing them herself. “No,” she says emphatically. “They should go to the children, if anything.”

Janet made a poignant point about family and celebrity at June’s BET Awards. (”To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family.”) “You know, people see this of you,” she says, gesturing to the television. “They have a fantasy in their mind, and to really get to know the true person, it’s different. Michael was a big brother. He was always very protective of me.” Even though they were stars since childhood, the two didn’t speak about how brutal the spotlight could be. “It’s part of the job, and we understood that. We never discussed it.”

There are other things Janet would like the world to know about Michael. “He loved to laugh. The last time we were together, he’d laugh so hard, he would just start crying. Sometimes his humor would be corny, sometimes dry. He loved the Three Stooges, he loved slapstick, he loved Eddie Murphy in his silly comedies. He loved to have fun. He loved to play.” If Janet had one more day with her brother (whose nickname for her, incidentally, was Dunk), she would “relive that moment we had when we were kids, do our little run: We’d wake up, feed the animals, spend the entire day together.”

She smiles at the memory, and Janet’s smile is magnificent. “People have actually said that I should get it insured, but I never liked my smile until about six or seven years ago. I thought it was too wide, that it looked like the Joker! So sometimes I wouldn’t smile too wide and would just kind of grin.”

Even though Janet has her trademarks — that smile being one of them — her style is evolving. Currently on the curvier side, she is exploring her love for the 1940s: “I love shoulder pads, a nipped waist.” Today she’s in harem pants by Ellie Mae Byars of Mizzae, a denim jacket, and armfuls of black bracelets by Claudia Tate. “Since I was 16, I used to shop at Maxfield in L.A. I loved Thierry Mugler, Gaultier…” Now Janet is a fan of Roland Mouret and Alexander McQueen, and she sheepishly admits she just had a room built for her shoes: “Louboutin, YSL, Alaïa, and Giuseppe Zanotti.”

For all her quietness, Janet is acutely aware of image and the power she has, especially with young women. She is completing a book called True You, about diet and self-esteem. “It was originally about weight loss,” she says. Famously up and down in weight, Janet shed 60 pounds in four months in 2006. She has been in turn envied and criticized for her figure, which has varied from girlish in Herb Ritts’s 1990 “Love Will Never Do (Without You)” video to muscly (2004’s infamous Super Bowl “wardrobe malfunction”) to bigger when she takes time out. “But I wanted it to be more about my triggers. I can be an emotional eater.” Her voice lowers. “Of late, I have been doing that, yes. It started when I was very little. My brothers were gone on tour a lot, and I would miss them so much. Certain things in my life would become triggers. I wish I’d had a book like this when I was that young. People forget that everyone has things going on.” And with the album, tour, book, and film coming up next year, Janet has a lot going on. “It’s still important to face reality, and not that I’m running, but sometimes you just need to get away for a second.”

Janet is also now single, recently breaking off her seven-year relationship with music producer Jermaine Dupri. Does she still believe in marriage? “For [some] people, sure! I don’t know if I’ll get married again. [She's been married twice, as a teen to James DeBarge and to choreographer René Elizondo.] I’ll put it like this: If God wants me to, then I will.” Dating? “Yeah, I’ve had people ask me out. I haven’t entertained any offers thus far, but I’m locking myself in my work right now.” Some might say boys smell anyway. “Yeah, they stink,” she chuckles, “and they’re dirty.”

Janet is similarly fatalistic on the topic of children: “Sure, I’d adopt. And I think that if I’m really supposed to have kids, it will happen, if that’s God’s plan for me.” She wouldn’t encourage her kids to go into entertainment “unless it was something they really wanted to do. If they knew what they were up against.”

If Michael is the King of Pop, Janet is its princess. “I would hope my legacy would be bringing smiles to faces,” she says. “Happiness with my music. Also, to make babies. I’ve had so many people come up to me and say, ‘My child was conceived by listening to your music.’” She has more difficulty articulating Michael’s. “It’s so beyond. I can’t even begin. It’s on so many different levels. Bringing light and love and happiness. He’s just got so much love, and so much heart, and so much power through his music. Children and his love for children. People have told me, ‘I am an American citizen because of your brother.’ He wrote them a letter or something. He was just that giving, loving person. And the greatest entertainer there ever was. And is. I hope people get a glimpse of him now, some sort of picture.”

Now Janet sits atop an empire and a family mythology much of her own making and under her control, an iconic performer mourning her brother and planning what’s next. “You know, I never look back on what I’ve done unless I’m asked,” she says, “but I remember Mike saying, ‘You need to stop and enjoy it. Think about everything you’ve done, all that you’ve accomplished.’

“But there’s so much more I want to do,” she adds. And the smile breaks out again.
